Bio: Maya is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is primarily grounded in movement arts and bringing bring poetry into form. She just graduated her 2 year circus arts training program here in Chicago, and has has been enjoying her newfound time as a full time professional movement artist! I'm currently interested in authenticity, research & experimentation, mood, musicality, centering neurodivergence, and de-centering western ideologies. My goal is to create experiences with intention, pose questions for analysis and develop a line of communication between artist and audience as well as work on projects and with people who are in alignment with my values and the life's work I strive to develop. Receiving the opportunity to work on this project with Honey Pot has been a kismet dream. It has been a great honor and a tremendous pleasure to join a collective of likeminded individuals, and work alongside this group for the creation of this Work. This process has felt soft, gentle and deeply restorative. In the place and time that we currently live in, getting the privilege to exist and create in a space like this has been an unspeakable form of luxury that cannot be understated enough! I couldn't be more grateful and more proud of what we have been developing over the past several months. Pleasure Power Portal has truly been that for me, something transformative and transporting, joyful. I'm excited to share it and connect with others. "It's not a chore, it's a pleasure."
